Uncle Nicky’s is a high-end Italian café and cocktail lounge designed to be effortlessly sophisticated yet warmly approachable from morning espresso to late-night Negroni. Rooted in the charm of classic Italian cafes, the interior design evokes a timeless European sensibility layered with contemporary details tailored to its local context. The design team drew inspiration from the original location to maintain brand consistency while creating a space unique to its new site—featuring an inviting outdoor patio shaded beneath a mature tree canopy, enhancing the café’s connection to the surrounding environment.
Inside, the design team overcame significant spatial challenges, integrating a fully functioning commercial kitchen into an existing wood-framed structure with low ceiling heights under eight feet. Thoughtful spatial planning, custom millwork, and creative lighting strategies ensured that the space feels airy, refined, and welcoming throughout the day. The result is an intimate yet vibrant environment where authentic Italian cuisine and expertly crafted cocktails are served with style and ease.
